| Selection Procedure | |||||||||
| 1. Shortlisting for Main Exam: Candidates will be shortlisted for the written (main) examination based on their normalized scores in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025). Up to 15 times the number of vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted, including all candidates up to the last cut-off normalized score (up to 2 decimal places). Candidates with zero or negative scores in PET-2025 will not be shortlisted. 2. Written (Main) Examination: One question paper consisting of 100 objective/multiple-choice questions, to be completed in 2 hours (120 minutes). Each question carries 1 mark. Negative marking of 25% (i.e., 0.25 marks) per wrong answer applies. 3. Exam Pattern: Part-1 (Subject Knowledge): 65 marks – Theory of Machines & Machine Design (15), Engineering Mechanics (10), Strength of Materials (10), Thermodynamics (05), IC Engine (05), Steam Engineering & Power Plant (05), Refrigeration & Air Compression (05), Fluid Mechanics & Hydraulic Machines (10). Part-2 (Computer & IT): 15 marks. Part-3 (General Knowledge of Uttar Pradesh): 20 marks. 4. Normalization: If the exam is held in multiple shifts/days, normalization of scores will be applied as per the Commission’s established procedure (as per Notice No. 42/05/Vigya Anu. (11)/2019 dated 22 May 2019). 5. No Interview: Selection is based solely on the written examination (as per UP Group ‘C’ Direct Recruitment Rules 2015 and UP Lower Level Posts Direct Recruitment (Interview Abolished) Rules 2017). 6. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. Candidates must present preference for posts at the time of document verification. | |||||||||
