Qualification

1Petroleum EngineeringCandidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or Applied Petroleum Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized university or institution.
2Mechanical EngineeringCandidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized university or institution.
3Chemical EngineeringCandidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized university or institution.
4Instrumentation EngineeringCandidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized university or institution.
5GeologyCandidates must have a Postgraduate degree in Geology, M.Sc./M.Tech. in Petroleum Geoscience, M.Sc./M.Tech. in Petroleum Geology, or M.Tech. in Geological Technology with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized university or institution.

E 160,000 – 1,80,000/-Besides Basic Pay and annual increment @ 3%, the employee is entitled to allowances @ 35% of Basic Pay under Cafeteria Approach, Dearness Allowance, HRA/Company Accommodation, Contributory Provident Fund, Conveyance Maintenance, Leave Encashment, Performance Related Pay (PRP), Medical Facility for self and dependents, Gratuity, Post Retirement Benefit scheme and Composite Social Security Scheme etc. as per company rules
Mode of Selection
Candidates will be required to appear for Computer Based Test (Objective Type) comprising of
four sections – Concerned Subject, General Awareness, Aptitude Test and an English Language for a total duration of 02 hours.

CBT Score will be considered by ONGC for shortlisting the candidates in 1:5 ratio for further selection process of Personal Interview as per the criteria decided by the Management. While shortlisting in the ratio of 1:5 in the respective categories, in case multiple candidates secure minimum cut-off marks, all of them will also be shortlisted in relaxation of the specified ratio.

The shortlisted candidates may also be subjected to Group Discussion. However, Group Discussion will not be of qualifying nature.

The Final selection of the candidate will be on the basis of the parameters – CBT Score and Performance in the Personal Interview.
Following weightages shall be assigned to the parameters:
CBT Score – 85 Marks
Interview – 15 Marks
Total – 100 Marks

The Test paper shall consist of Multiple- Choice Questions and shall be of 2 hours duration. However, PWBD candidates may get the provision of compensatory time i.e. 20 minutes per hour.
PwBD candidates in the category of Blindness and Locomotor disability who are compelled to avail Scribe due to their disability, shall be allowed to bring the scribe. The provision of scribe can be allowed on production of a certificate from the Chief Medical Officer/ Civil Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care Institution as per proforma prescribed by the GOI to the effect that the person concerned has physical limitation to write/ operate computer and help of scribe is essential to appear at the examination.

There will be No negative marking in the CBT test.
