| Who can apply | |||||||||
| 1. Candidates who have obtained degree (graduate/ post-graduate) or are in the final year. 2. Candidate degree should have been obtained from a University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities/Autonomous Universities under UGC Act 1956; IIT Act, 1961; AICTE Act, 1987; NITSER Act, 2007;IIIT Act, 2014. 3. Candidates studying/ in possession of degree from foreign institutions may also apply for any Branch/ Cadre as enumerated above. However, an equivalence certificate of the degree from UGC is to be obtained and submitted, indicating it equivalence as per the qualification requirements as mentioned, of that Branch/ Cadre. | |||||||||

| Tenure of Commission | |||||||||
| Selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission initially for 12 years extendable by maximum 02 years, subject to service requirement, performance, medical eligibility and willingness of candidates. | |||||||||
| Pay and Allowances | |||||||||
| Pay and Allowances/Group Insurance & Gratuity/ Leave Entitlements/ Duties of Officers. The initial gross salary of Sub Lieutenant starts from Rs 1,20,000/- (approximately) per month along with other allowances as applicable. Further details are available on Indian Navy website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. All officers/ cadets would be compulsorily members of the Naval Group Insurance Scheme (NGIS) as received and approved for insurance cover on contribution basis. The cover would be applicable whilst in service and post retirement as per extant regulations. | |||||||||
| Probation | |||||||||
| Probation period for all branches/cadres is two years. The probation period will commence from the date of grant of the rank of Sub Lieutenant and will terminate after two years or on completion of initial training (whichever is later). During probation the officers are liable to be discharged in case of unsatisfactory performance at any stage. | |||||||||
